Once in Essaouira, you’ll explore the historic port, the Skala (old fortress), and the medina with its art galleries and shops. Today, you’ll leave the desert behind and continue north toward Fes.. First, pass through Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and dates. Then drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley with its thousands of palm trees. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt for lunch. You’ll also stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets and European-style houses. After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full day of exploring the rich history of Fes, one of the oldest cities in Morocco. Visit the famous Fes el-Bali, the old medina with its narrow streets and bustling souks. You’ll see the Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest in the world, and visit the Bou Inania Madrasa and the beautiful Nejjarine Fountain. You’ll also see the colorful tanneries where leather is still made in the traditional way. Learn about the city’s Islamic, Jewish, and Andalusian history as you explore. Overnight in Fes.

Today, you’ll drive from Fes to Chefchaouen with amazing stops along the way. First, visit Meknes, a historical imperial city with large gates and beautiful buildings. Then head to Volubilis, a well-preserved Roman ruin site where you can walk among ancient columns and mosaics. After that, continue your journey through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the famous blue city. Walk around the peaceful blue-painted streets and enjoy the relaxed vibe. After breakfast, leave Chefchaouen and drive to Tangier, a city with a mix of European and Moroccan culture. Today you’ll begin your return journey to Casablanca with some great stops along the way. First, visit Rabat, the capital of Morocco. You’ll see the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Royal Palace from outside. Walk along the Oudayas Kasbah, a highlight of any Rabat Oudayas Kasbah tour, with its beautiful old fortress and great ocean views. Then continue to Casablanca, where you can visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, built partly over the ocean. Check in at your hotel for the last night of your journey.
