8 Days Morocco Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Boumalne Dades (5 hr 3 min 313 km)

Your journey from Marrakech starts after breakfast. We drive through the High Atlas Mountains and enjoy amazing views at Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, we stop at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous movie location. After lunch near the kasbah, we continue to Ouarzazate and then pass through the Rose Valley before reaching Boumalne Dades for the night.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert (3 hr 44 min 253 km)

After breakfast, we travel to the Todra Gorges, known for their high rock cliffs and beautiful natural views. We will have time to walk inside the canyon and enjoy the fresh air. Later, we drive through Erfoud, a town famous for fossils and date palms, and continue to Merzouga, the entrance to the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a camel ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch a beautiful sunset. In the evening, dinner and an overnight stay will be at a desert camp under the stars. This is one of the true highlights of the trip.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou Forest – Fes (7 hr 21 min 468 km)

Wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the desert dunes. After breakfast, we leave the Sahara and start our journey north. We drive through the Ziz Valley, famous for its long palm groves and nice views, with stops for photos along the way. Later, we reach Midelt, a small town between the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we stop for lunch. We then continue through the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you may see wild monkeys in their natural area. We also stop in Ifrane, a clean and quiet town often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” In the evening, we arrive in Fes and transfer to your accommodation.

Day 4: Fes – Chefchaouen (3 hr 38 min 197 km)

After breakfast, we travel north through the beautiful Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City. This small town is famous for its blue-painted streets and houses, as well as its calm and relaxing atmosphere. Upon arrival, you will have free time to walk through the medina, take photos, and enjoy the unique charm of this lovely city. Overnight stay in a traditional riad in Chefchaouen.

Day 5: Chefchaouen – Tetouan – Tangier (2 hr 26 min 112 km)

Today, we leave Chefchaouen and travel to Tetouan, a coastal city known for its strong Andalusian style and history. We have time to see the old medina and enjoy the local atmosphere. After that, we continue to Tangier, a lively port city that connects Africa and Europe. Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore the city, walk along the coast, or relax at a café. Overnight stay in a hotel in Tangier.

Day 6: Tangier – Asilah (47 min 46.2 km)

After breakfast, we drive along the coast to Asilah, a small town by the Atlantic Ocean. Asilah is known for its white houses, colorful murals, and calm medina. You can walk through the town and enjoy the beach. Overnight in a hotel or riad.

Day 7: Asilah – Rabat (2 hr 22 min 205 km)

We continue south to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In Rabat, you will visit the Hassan Tower and other historical sites. The city shows a mix of Islamic and French design. Overnight stay in Rabat.

Day 8: Rabat – Casablanca (1 hr 9 min 87.4 km)

On the last day of the journey, we travel to Casablanca. Here, we visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa, located by the Atlantic Ocean. After the visit, we take you to your hotel. This marks the end of your journey.

 Verified Great Affordable Private Tour of the Sahara Desert We had a great experience with this company on our recent trip to Morocco. Mohammed (the owner of the company) was very responsive during the booking process and worked very hard to let all the appropriate people know about my husband's food allergies. Mohammed (our tour guide) was also wonderful. We did a 3 night/4 day tour from Morocco to Fes via the Sahara desert that involved a lot of driving. I am usually a nervous passenger, but I felt very safe and not concerned when driving around Morocco. When there was free time, he made suggestions for things we could do, but we were able to make decisions about what we wanted to do, etc. He made arrangements for us to ride ATVs the second night we were in the desert and that ended up being one of our favorite experiences of the trip. The food on this tour was fabulous and Mohammed made sure to find good options for us for lunch. We also made frequent stops for bathroom breaks and to stretch our legs while driving. The hotels we stayed at were amazing, especially the hotel in Dades and the luxury desert camp. We were originally planning to do two nights at the desert camp, so we were disappointed to hear that we were going back to a hotel for the third night, but the company explained why they were suggesting that we go to a hotel (heat-related reasons) and gave us the option to stay at the camp or do the hotel. We ended up going to the hotel once we understood the reasoning behind this. When coming to Morocco, it is totally worth the time to make it all the way to the Sahara. Riding a camel to the desert camp and being in the dunes was amazing and there is nothing like it in the world.  Verified Fantastic experience!! We were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children aged 13 and 9. The experience was awesome. Planning with Mohammed via email was super easy.. So easy that upon paying the deposit I was scared we were being scammed as the whole process was extremely easy, the deposit low and they were very accommodating with our wishes. But it was anything but a scam! Our holiday was perfectly planned, the hotels and riads were comfortable and clean and close to main attractions. The guide Hamid and drivers Mohammed ansd Ibrahim were very helpful with great tips on what to see and do and we also got to eat in local places getting the true Moroccan exerience.  Verified Highly recommend! I went on a 5 day tour and I can only say that it was really good. As a solo female Im very careful but Muhammad made me feel really safe. I had given the itinerary that I wanted and had completely left everything on them to do. They planned out everything. I loved the riads. The tour guide,Ahmed, in Fes was amazing. My favorite part was camping in the desert. It was absolutely amazing. Muhammad was very accommodating. He tried to answer all the questions that I had.
