After breakfast, your local guide will lead you on a walking tour of Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city. You will visit the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the gates of the Royal Palace, and a tile factory. From there, enjoy a panoramic view of the medina before exploring its narrow streets. Discover the tanneries, the Quaraouine University and Mosque (the oldest in the world), the Attarine Medersa, and the Nejjarine Fountain. After the visit, return to your riad for the night.
We leave Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we visit Azrou Cedar Forest, home to wild monkeys, before continuing to Midelt for lunch. The journey continues through the Ziz Valley, a long palm oasis with spectacular views. By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, for dinner and overnight in a desert hotel.
Wake up early to enjoy the peaceful sunrise over the Merzouga dunes. After breakfast, you return from the desert camp by camel ride or 4×4 vehicle to Merzouga village. We then drive to Rissani, the old trading town and former capital of the region. If it is a market day, you will visit the local souk, where Berbers sell spices, dates, and handmade items.
Next, we continue through small Berber villages such as Touroug and Tinjdad, passing palm trees and wide desert landscapes. In the afternoon, we arrive at the Todra Gorges, famous for its high red cliffs and fresh river. You will have free time to walk inside the canyon, take photos, and relax. After lunch, we drive to the Dades Valley, known for its rock formations and green valleys. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable riad or hotel in Dades Valley.
