After exploring the medina, we continue to Taliouine, known as Morocco’s saffron capital, where you can visit a local saffron cooperative. We then pass through Taznakht, famous for its traditional Berber carpets, before arriving in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where movies like “Gladiator” were filmed. After breakfast, we travel through the Anti-Atlas Mountains to Agdez, marking the start of the stunning Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest river. After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and travel through Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, where you can see ancient marine fossils. We then drive to Tinghir, a lush oasis town, before reaching the Todgha Gorges, a spectacular canyon with towering rock walls. After a short walk in the gorge, we continue to Dades Valley, known for its “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and beautiful kasbahs. We check into our hotel in Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we explore the scenic Dades Valley before driving through the Rose Valley, famous for its Damask roses and rosewater products. In Skoura, we visit the historic Kasbah Amridil, surrounded by palm groves. Next, we stop at Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate, where many Hollywood films were shot. Then, we visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. After exploring the kasbah, we drive over the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, before arriving in Marrakech for the night.
After breakfast, we take a guided tour of Marrakech, visiting landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the lively souks. We also explore Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where street performers, snake charmers, and food stalls create a vibrant atmosphere. After lunch in a local restaurant, we begin our drive back to Agadir, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. We arrive in Agadir in the evening, marking the end of this unforgettable desert tour from Agadir.
