Fes Desert Tour 2 Days

Your journey begins at 08:00, leaving Fes and heading towards Merzouga. The first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Little Switzerland of Morocco” for its clean streets and alpine feel. Enjoy a coffee break here before heading to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see the playful Barbary monkeys.

Afterward, you’ll cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, making your way to Midelt, known as the apple capital of Morocco. Here, you can stop for lunch.

Continuing the journey, you’ll pass through the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass, also known as the “she-camel pass,” and follow the Ziz Valley, filled with palm trees and traditional villages. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the stunning views.

In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, where camels and your guide will be ready to take you on a trek through the beautiful Erg Chebbi Dunes. You’ll witness an amazing orange sunset from the top of a high dune. After a delicious dinner, relax by a campfire under the stars while listening to Berber music.

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.
