6 DAYS TRIP TO IMPERIAL CITIES AND DESERT FROM MARRAKECH

Itinerary

Our trip starts from Marrakech, by picking you up from your accommodation towards Fes; crossing the highest mountain pass in north Africa the Tizi n’Tichka road, through the Dades valley, offering you a panoramic scenery over the high Atlas mountains; till we reach the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou; a world heritage site and, Morocco’s pride of architecture in the south, that attracted people and, producers from all over the world to give it a part in their films(more than 20 universal movies) such as “Son of God”, “Prince of Persia”, “Jesus of Nazareth” etc.

Thereupon, we will continue to the city of Ouarzazate, also known as the “Ouallywood”, because it is a home for one of the biggest film studios around the world “Atlas studios”, where you will have a guided tour, to explore the sets and, know more about the film’s that had been shot there. After a quiet stay in the area, we will continue our journey to the Dades valley, then we will proceed our way. Once arrived to Tinghir .Diner and night at the hotel.

In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast in front of the beautifull area of Dades and, have a short round after to discover the famous Monkey toes mountains; before heading over to one of the most spectacular canyons around the world, beautifuly sits between hills the “Todgha gorges”, where you will have the oppurtunity to hike and shere the road with locals and their packing animals, in a friendly  mood, enjoying the view from above. Right after that, we are going to continue our trip to the palms city “Erfoud”, where you will  enjoy a traditional lunch in the old market.

At late afternoon, we will arrive at the town of Merzouga, where you will check in a hotel near the dunes to restore and prepare your bivouac gear; thereupon, our guide will take you in a memorable experience through the loose sandy dunes of Erg Echebbi on top of camels, taking you to our traditional camp under the beautiful sunset. We will spend the night in the tents of nomads in the Sahara desert to enjoy the silence with a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Early this morning, we will resume our Trip, driving to Fez passing by Ifrane with its unique architecture that gives you the impression that you are in another country, and Crossing by the largest cedar forests in the country and, the second major mountain pass Tizi nTalghamt that offers you a panoramic view over the middle Atlas mountain and the Berber villages. But right before reaching Fez or passing by Ifrane and Azrou, we are going to cross Erfoud by passing by the Darra valley, where you will have a worth stop, to admire the beauty of this place, beautifully perched by the infinite palm groves lined by the Daraa river and, the small town of Rissani, and starting the trip from Merzouga.

In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast in the beautiful the city of “Fes”, then we’ll begin exploring it starting with the old medina and, its medieval alleys that leads you to the main monuments of Fes that attracted people from all over the world such as: the unique “Madrasa Bou Inania”, a religious college and, the only one with a minara; Then you are goin to enjoy strolling around “Jnan Sbill”, away from the hustle of the medina, a nice noisless oasis gardens of nature; thereupon you will visit the most iconic portal gate to  Fes El Bali, the majestic gate of “Boujloud”. Before continuing our trip; to reach our destination of today which is ChefChaouen where you will conclude the day at a hotel, with dinner included.

After breakfast, you will get the chance to explore the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen, where you will have the opportunity to stroll around this unique town, with its medina decorated with a blend of white and blue buildings , creative arts shops and the atmospheric square of Utah el Hammam. Later we will go to Casablanca the largest city in the country and of course we will make a little tour around this big city visiting the majestic mosque of Hassan II, the fifth largest mosque in the world, with the highest minara, constructed partly over the sea with a blend of the Andalusian and Muslim style of architecture. Afterwards, you will explore the houbous and have lunch at the port, with a special fish dish and, enjoy the refreshing air of the sea. Right after lunch you will visit the new town of Casablanca and, conclude by a visit to the refreshing  sea-side, but of course before going to Casablanca we will have the chance to learn about the capital “Rabat” and exploring it.

This day will be dedicated to the exploration of the red city This morning and after breakfast you will have the day off to visit Marrakech, right after reaching it coming from Casablanca. It’s a city that will undoubtedly surprise you. Like these interesting sites of this city such as the Menara Gardens; a mirror of the Muslim Paradise on earth, this peaceful garden is special for walking and its charm is located in the central area around a huge artificial pond, the legend tells that these gardens were used by the sultans for their dating. We will also visit the Saadian Tombs; one of the most visited places of Marrakech, were opened to the public in 1917, the year in which they were discovered. In the same garden you can see more than 100 tombs decorated with mosaics, in them are buried the bodies of the servants and warriors of the Saadian dynasty. We’ll take you to the Bahia Palace; a palace and gardens built with the intention of being the biggest palace of all times and residence of the former Vizier, it includes a patio decorated with a central basin and surrounded by rooms. Later we will make it to the Koutoubia Mosque; one of the most representative monuments of the city, it stands out because of its 69 metre high minaret making it the tallest building in the city and a recognisable landmark. And finally we will go together to Djemaa El Fna Square; you will be surprised by its enormous dimensions in spite of being placed in the centre of the Medina with a maze of narrow streets and alleyways leading off. You will also be surprised when the square completely changes its scenery by day as a fabulous souk and at night it turns into a swarm of food stalls where people gather around for dinner.
